The US Embassy Nigeria education USA opportunity funds program has been opened since April 15th, 2021, and closes May 31, 2021.
OFP EXPECTATION
Students who are willing and ready to apply for the opportunity funds program 2021 are expected to show genuine commitment, dedication, and diligence to the program to ensure they are able to achieve their dreams in the United States (US). More so students must be able to reach the OFP offices in Abuja or Lagos on a monthly basis during the course of the program to ensure full participation.
SCHOLARSHIP:
The opportunity funds program offers the following :
*Payment of the cost of the application.
*financing of registration fees and examination fees.
*offers free membership to the US EducationUSA Advising center for all its participants.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants are welcome from all the 36 states in Nigeria.
-The scholarship program is open to all students who are done with their WAEC “O” level exams, those who are currently in SS3, and those who are done with their first degree. An undergraduate who has begun university education is not qualified to apply.
NOTE: Applicants who do not have WAEC results must currently be in senior secondary school 3 (SS3).
REQUIREMENTS ;
The OFP requires applicant in both undergraduate (secondary school) and graduate categories to possess the following ;
(I) undergraduate: A copy of WAEC “O” level result, or Cambridge A’level results
Graduate: GPA of 4.5 and above. First-class.
(II) Undergraduate: letter of recommendation from either school principal or teacher.
Graduate: letter of recommendation from the lecturer, professor, or Head of Department (HOD).
(III) Undergraduate: A copy of the transcript from jss3 to ss3
Graduate: copy of transcript and degree certificate.
(IV) Undergraduate and graduate: Write two (2) essays each of about 250 – 300 words.
NOTE: The topics of the essay will be provided on the form.
